We emphasize preventative care and will provide you with the services and information you need to live a healthy and productive life. In addition to our physicians, our Raleigh and Cary offices have a full staff of prenatal nurses, staff nurses, laboratories, receptionists, and insurance personnel.

Office Hours and Appointments

We offer two convenient locations to better serve our patients throughout the Triangle area.

Our office is closed for lunch from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. daily.

Routine visits are by appointment only. Urgent care for existing patients is usually addressed on the same day. We have triage nurses who are available during normal business hours to answer any questions or problems you may have.

In the event that an emergency occurs and your physician is not in the office, one of our other physicians will be available for you to see. If you would like to make an appointment please contact us at the following numbers:

Obstetric Care at Capital Area Ob/GYN

During your pregnancy, our practice assures the availability of quality medical care at all times. This includes

    • Prenatal visits
    • Care for high-risk pregnancies
    • Urgent same-day pregnancy care visits
    • Consultations and management
    • Delivery of your baby(s)
    • Postpartum care.

Your first obstetrical visit will be scheduled with our prenatal nurse after confirmation of your pregnancy with an ultrasound. You may select any of our physicians as your primary obstetrician. Since our six physicians will share the responsibility of your obstetrical care, your office visits can be rotated with the different physicians in our practice.

Gynecological Care at Capital Area Ob/GYN

We provide care for women of all ages. Our services cover the entire spectrum of gynecologic care including pre-conceptual counseling, infertility consultations, contraception care, and treatment for menopausal symptoms. In addition, we perform major and minor gynecologic surgeries at Rex Hospital.

We strongly recommend that you have a preventative examination on a yearly basis. This examination includes a yearly breast and pelvic exam. There may be times that you will need to be seen on an urgent basis when your physician is not in the office. If this should occur, one of our other physicians will be happy to provide you with care.

Mammography at Capital Area Ob/GYN

With our convenient Raleigh location, access to screening mammograms has never been easier. Mammograms are an excellent tool for finding early-stage breast cancer resulting in a decrease in mortality. We recommend beginning annual mammograms at age 40. This is based on screening recommendations from institutions such as

    • American Cancer Society
    • American College of Radiology
    • American Medical Association
    • National Cancer Institute
    • The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists
    • The National Comprehensive Cancer Network.

Breast cancer is most common in U.S. women. More than 230,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected within the next year and almost 40,000 women will pass away from this disease. The lifetime risk of developing breast cancer is one in six overall and one in eight for invasive disease.

The Advanced Care Team at Capital Area Ob/GYN

Telephone Triage

We employ a Registered Nurse who handles telephone triage. Telephone triage is a registered nurse who helps patients determine what type of care they need over the telephone. This is done utilizing clinical protocols that help the nurse determine the severity of the patient’s health issues and rank them according to urgency. The registered nurse is able to assess the patient’s symptoms and assist the patient in deciding if they need to seek emergency treatment, make an appointment with the provider, or treat themselves at home.

CMA Care Coordinator

We employ a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to assist with Care Coordination throughout our office. Patient care coordinators are liaisons between patients, providers, and the health care system. The patient care coordinator ensures that the patients receive the care that they need, and understand their medical condition, medications, and other instructions provided by the provider. The care coordinator assists in bringing together the different disciplines within the office to monitor and evaluate the care delivered.
